Parking information:This event will take advantage of the Whitby Park and Ride scheme. The Park and Ride car park is at the junction of the A171 and the B1460 at grid reference NZ 875101. The nearest postcode is YO21 1TL. Further information, including parking costs and travel time from the parking to the Event Centre, will be in the Final Details. Click on the link to see a map. You can zoom in (and, optionally, switch to Satellite mode) to see the details of the final approach to the event. You can also get directions by putting in your starting location. The Event Centre will be in Whitby Leisure Centre. This is where you will find Enquiries, entry on the day, hire SI-cards, elite bib collection, toilets, download and First Aid. Showers will also be available, and there will be space to leave kit in the Assembly Hall. Elite competitors: Please collect your bib from Enquiries in the Leisure Centre before your run.
Dog rules:Dogs on leads are allowed in Whitby town, but not in the Leisure Centre or on the courses

Description:Terrain: Technical urban terrain in Whitby town centre, along with nearby residential and parkland areas. This area was previously used in 2014, and previous maps are available on RouteGadget...........................Safety: Remember that you must download even if you do not complete your course. Please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.........................................................Map: 1:4000 for the Elite sprint courses. 1:5000 for the Urban courses. Mapped to ISSOM. Minor updates for this event. Size A4 or A3 depending on the course.

Course description:Sprint courses for M/W 18-20E and M/W 21E. All other classes will have a standard urban course. The entry categories will be:- Elite Sprint Junior Elite Sprint Open Veteran (40+) Super Vets (55+) Ultra Vets (65+) Juniors (16-) Young Juniors (12-) Points will be awarded as follows:- Elite sprint courses North-East Urban League (NEUL) Open category. UK Urban League (UKUL) Open category. UK Orienteering League (UKOL) 18, 20, 21 and 35 classes. UK Elite Orienteering League (UKEOL). Urban courses All other categories. IMPORTANT NOTE: Juniors who are under 16 on the day of the race will only be allowed to run the Juniors and Young Juniors urban courses.
