Parking information:Parking in Litlington Road Forestry Commission car park: £2.20 for 2 hours, £3.30 for 3 hours, £4.40 all day. From the south take the A259 west from Eastbourne, east from Seaford. At Exceat turn north on to the Litlington Road, ignore first car park, use car park on right after West Dean turning. From the north at Wilmington crossroads on the A27 (TQ 546049) turn south through Wilmington and Litlington for about 6 kilometers, car park on left.

Description:One of Southdowns Orienteers regular Saturday morning events, forming part of the SOGallopen series. 4 courses - Blue (approx 6km), Green (approx 4km), Orange (approx 2.5km) & Yellow (approx 1.5km). Blue & Green for experienced orienteers, orange & yellow for newcomers, juniors & families.

Courses

Course description:Friston Forest is mainly a beech forest, with some areas of pine and natural woodland. Runnability is generally quite good, although brambles are present in some areas. There is a clear ride & track network, with some smaller "mountain bikers" paths. The area is undulating, with a few steep slopes on the blue course.
