| Description: | Hockham is a typical Thetford forest area with a well formed network of tracks and paths. The exception to this is the Pingos area in the north east part of the map. This is the most technical area with numerous ponds and ditches. A number of the ditches have small bridges which are shown on the map and the smaller ditches can be crossed quite easily. Ongoing forestry work has left much of the area to the South of the minor road with thinning and brashings on the ground. Some paths have been damaged by heavy machinery and new (unmapped) extraction paths may be encountered although only on the Blue and Brown courses. Where brashings may impede the run ability the hatched green areas indicate the direction of the unmapped extraction paths. |
