Description: | Sand dunes and slag ridges give a very technical relief with a profusion of hills, knolls, gullies and depressions. Many paths, some are very distinct and afford fast progress through the dunes but if they are used for navigation they can be very misleading - not all small paths mapped. The sand is quite consolidated on the landward side but becomes soft close to the beach. The Marram grass can make life quite uncomfortable off the paths. There are small pieces of fence and some trees / bushes not mapped |
