Description:Part of BOK's Urban Orienteering Series, held most Wednesday evenings from Spring to early Summer. Special Sprint format for this event. Urban footpaths, residential streets, playing fields and small wooded area. Road shoes, running shorts and vests are suitable (if wet weather then the forest area can get slippery, but there are no steep slopes). Longer courses can use the cycle path to the east of the area as a route choice – please be aware of cyclists. Juniors (under 16) must be accompanied by a responsible adult to the start (as the route is alongside a main road). The short course crosses a couple of minor relatively traffic free roads, with the majority of the course in parkland. It is recommended for Juniors to carry a whistle in case they get lost in the small wooded area. Technical difficulty of the short course is TD3 – so it is NOT recommended for Juniors under the age of 14 that are not competent on an orange standard course. The short course is suitable for adult beginners; help and advice available on the day.
