Chair of Events & Competitions Committee
Mike Forrest has stepped down as chair of Events & Competitions Committee. Although Mike was appointed chair late in 2011, shortly after his appointment he was offered a new full time position which he accepted. His new role is proving to be more than full time and he has decided that in the best interest of British Orienteering he is no longer able to give the time to the role as chair of the Committee that it requires. Mike is thanked for his work in establishing the committee and we hope that Mike will be able to find the time to continue to enjoy his orienteering both as a participant and as an organiser, planner and mapper. This is an extremely important role within British Orienteering and the recruitment of a new chair will commence shortly. The recruitment and appointment process will be open and transparent. It is hoped to attract a diverse group of applicants and applications of interest will be welcome from anyone interested in the role.
