Did you see orienteering on BBC Breakfast?

Did you catch Mike Bushell BBC One Breakfast Sports Presenter on Saturday morning (17 June 2017) taking part in South East Lancs Orienteering Club event at Media City, Manchester?

As part of British Orienteering's Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebrations we took this opportunity to invite Mike Bushell BBC One Breakfast Sports Presenter to come along to an event and try out the sport of orienteering for himself.

Jennie Taylor, Marketing Manager at British Orienteering, says:

"As part of British Orienteering's Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebrations we thought it would be a great opportunity to try and get on BBC Breakfast and raise the profile of British Orienteering's 50 years Golden milestone and showcase the sport of orienteering as it is today.
Inspired by our 50th anniversary, I was delighted when Mike Bushell BBC One Breakfast Sports Presenter came back to me and said yes that he would like you to come and give orienteering a go!
For the filming to go on air on the day of our actual 50 year anniversary date Saturday 17 June 2017  was really great!"

A special thank you to Stephen Round and all at South East Lancs Orienteering Club for their help, support and providing an excellent course and great orienteering event at Media City in Salford.  Thank you also to Catherine Wilson (South East Lancs Orienteering Club), Katherine Bett (Sheffield University Orienteering Club / Southern Navigators) and  Natalie Weir (Participation Manager at British Orienteering) for giving excellent interviews on the night.  Thank you to all the club members who attended and ran the course and made it a great evening of orienteering.
