British Orienteering has two incentives schemes for members to encourage them to reach for the stars!

As part of British Orienteering membership, your orienteering successes can be recognised through the 'Navigational Challenge' and 'Racing Challenge' Incentive Schemes.

The British Orienteering Navigation and Racing challenges are incentive schemes that enable you to track your progress through the colour-coded courses and their corresponding technical difficulty.

The Navigation Challenge

Members are eligible for a Navigation Challenge certificate after successfully completing 3 colour coded courses at the same technical difficulty standard.

The certificates are ‘star’ based; for example, 1 star for technical difficulty 1 up to 5 stars for technical difficulty 5.

The Racing Challenge

British Orienteering Members are eligible for a Racing Challenge certificate after successfully completing 3 colour coded courses of the same technical difficulty within the following times:

These certificates are also ‘star’ based.  For example; 1 star for technical difficulty 1 - up to 5 stars for technical difficulty 5 (as colour coded above).

The certificates will be automatically generated via the results that orienteering clubs upload to the British Orienteering website.  Results can be viewed here.

The results uploaded will count towards the British Orienteering incentive schemes.  Certificates are available for members to download via the member's area of the website. Members receive an email informing them of their success if British Orienteering holds an email address on their database. All Club Secretaries will be notified of member achievements.
