Edinburgh University Orienteering Club Big Weekend 2018

Four events over the weekend of Friday 19 January – Sunday 21 January 2018.

A night sprint race around King’s Buildings plus an indoor sprint race, an urban race around the streets of Edinburgh and a classic race on Holyrood Park. As well as this a social will be happening on the Saturday night in the form of a traditional Scottish Ceilidh.

Matthew Fellbaum from Edinburgh University Orienteering Club who are hosting the 10th anniversary of the Edinburgh Big Weekend on January 19-21 next year, said:  “This year we are holding our first ever indoor race in the JCMB, one of the university buildings. Also on Friday evening, you'll get to run a fast and furious 'Fight with the Night' in the Kings Buildings campus. Then on Saturday we are going back to the stunning George Heriot's School as the assembly and finish location for the city race, and on Sunday expect some top-notch courses around Holyrood Park. These 2 races are the first of the UK Orienteering League for next year, so will be a perfect opportunity to get some good scores early on in the season! We will also have a traditional Scottish Ceilidh on Saturday night, which will be a great way to meet up and socialise after the racing. We have limited tickets for this event and they always sell out so be quick!  Entries are now open and will close in early January. We'd love to have as many people come as possible, for what we hope will be the best edition of the big weekend yet!”
