The Tamar Triple 2018 - this Bank Holiday Weekend (26-28 May)

This is the 13th Tamar Triple, which takes place every other year on the second May bank holiday weekend, somewhere “within striking distance” of the river Tamar.

The Tamar flows due south and forms the border between Devon and Cornwall.

This year kicks off with an Urban event at Exeter University, followed by two days on the technically challenging terrain of Braunton Burrows in north Devon, last seriously used for JK 2010.

This is the premier event staged regularly by the two clubs. The first event will contribute points to the UK Urban League and both days at Braunton to the UK Orienteering League.

Overall Event Coordinator Alan Simpson (DEVON), says:  "Exeter University campus is a lovely site to run on, and the map has been updated to reflect recent new buildings. The Braunton map has been carefully revised for this occasion by John Pearce of Devon Orienteering Club.  Changes occur quite quickly due to natural forces and to army training manoeuvres.

We have a strong team of Planners and Controllers and are pleased by the size of the entry, which now exceeds 500 on both Braunton days, and a bit less at Exeter. There will be some serious competition."

Please note:  Online entries on Fabian4 closed on Sunday 20th May, but some late entries on all courses except the Green on Day 2 will be available.  Email: alanjsimpson16@gmail.com
