A silver and two bronzes for GB in the World Masters MTBO championships in Budapest in the first ever Masters Mass start race. Charlie Somers-Cocks was in silver by only one second from Monica Kolberg of Sweden in gold. Killian Lomas and Sarah Bayliss raced to bronze in M/W50 respectively. The forest wasn't quite the "Green Hell" of the model event with some stiff climbs and two map exchanges to make the most of a hilly area with some tricky technical descents, with a complex single-track area (with a 1:5000 inset) near the finish catching out many competitors.
