It’s time to plan your big Day for #worldorienteeringday

There are now less than three weeks to go before World Orienteering Day starts on Wednesday 15 May 2019 for a week of orienteering and now is the time to register an event at your club, school or workplace!

Since the first #worldorienteeringday in 2016, countless thousands of people in countries across the world have come together for special events to raise the profile of the sport and to reach out to new participants to try orienteering.

#worldorienteeringday has trended on Twitter and generated local media coverage but more importantly, is about getting people to pick up a map and celebrate our great sport – so get out into your communities and spread the word!

If you are planning to hold a club event, whilst entering the details on the British Orienteering fixture listings on the British Orienteering website don't forget to register your event on the world map on the World Orienteering Day website here.

If you are looking for some ideas, have a look at this snapshot of last year's events to see how you could get involved.
