Schools Score Championships entry deadline approaching

Don’t miss out!  Entries for the British Schools Score Orienteering Championships close this Saturday 21 September. The event, taking place at Heaton Park Manchester on Saturday 12 October, is a great opportunity for students in years 5 to 13, to compete together as a school in this fast paced event.

For all the details and to download the entry form visit the BSOA School Score website page.

The format for this competition sees participants score points by visiting as many controls as possible in any order within a pre-specified time limit of 45 minutes. For this event there will be approximately 30 controls in the area, with around 8 to 10 controls in a loop equivalent to a White course on the British Orienteering colour-coded grading scheme. The remaining controls will be at a mixture of Yellow, Orange, Light Green and Green standard sites. Pupils don’t have to stay out for the full 45 minutes, but take note, points are deducted if the time limit is exceeded.
