Great success for the Virtual Coaching Conference

Did you miss any of the Virtual Coaching Conference? The 2021 conference concluded earlier this month, but don’t worry if you missed any sessions or want to watch any back, they are now all available online.

Nine sessions covering a variety of different areas of coaching are freely available to watch when you want, alongside the relevant presentations via the conference webpage here.

Over five weeks, the conference saw over 710 live views and over 250 individuals registering, from 70 UK clubs. Sessions included 'Systematic Orienteering', 'Using Virtual Platform for Coaching', 'Safety for Coaches' to discussing ‘What is a Coach?’'  Following the conference, British Orienteering is also conducting a short survey to hear what’s worked well, what can be improved on and help plan for future training and conferences.

Peter Brooke, Operations Manager at British Orienteering, said “Faced with the challenges of being unable to hold the conference in person, the response to it being online has been fantastic. I’d like to thank everyone who tuned in and especially all the presenters who put together some really engaging content which I’m sure will play a positive part in coaching sessions when they restart once again.”

“I’d also like to thank Denise Martin of SOA and Hilary Palmer (NOC) for their support and hard work in pulling the programme together.”

“Finally, don’t forget to help us review the conference by spending five minutes completing the short survey.”
