World Orienteering Day 2021 in May is postponed and will now be taking place 8 - 14 September 2021

Report by Jenny Nilsson, Project Manager - World Orienteering Day, International Orienteering Federation

World Orienteering Day 2021 scheduled to take place from 19 - 25 May 2021 is postponed.

The difficult situation with the Covid-19 pandemic in the world looks to continue, at least for the first half of 2021. Most countries are projecting vaccination programs to be far enough advanced for opening wider activities around mid-year (June-July).

The International Orienteering Federation (IOF) does not wish to encourage breaking any national laws or/and recommendations concerning the gathering of people.

With this in consideration, the decision has been made to postpone World Orienteering Day 2021 to September 2021. The decision has been taken in collaboration with the World Orienteering Day partners.

Save the new date!  The new date for World Orienteering Day 2021 is the 8th of September, and as usual, any activity held between
Wednesday 8 September to Tuesday 14th of September 2021 can be registered as a World Orienteering Day event.

Events that are already pre-registered at World Orienteering Day webpage will remain until September.
