British Orienteering’s new initiative funded by Sport England 'Find Your Way'

Coming soon!

Project Officer Kay Hawke at British Orienteering, says:

"Work has been going on behind the scenes since November for British Orienteering’s new initiative aimed at getting more, hard-to-reach young people and families actively engaged in their local green spaces and community through Virtual Orienteering.

The Find Your Way Project is a three-year initiative funded by Sport England and will focus on seven areas around England with 9 clubs signed up in its’ first year to deliver the events and activities.

We are excited by the proposals and plans in place that have been made through discussions with the Maprun6 app, city councils, Active and School Sports Partnerships, and local community groups about how Virtual Orienteering can become a ‘go to’ activity for their communities.

Over the next coming months, you can expect to see the start of these activities which will range from summer holiday scheme courses to schools leagues and even a tie-in with the Commonwealth Games!"
