GB elite athletes travelled to Antwerp, Belgium for Sprint Preparation Camp

As the 2022 International Season approaches, fourteen GB elite athletes travelled to Antwerp, Belgium to take part in a Sprint Preparation Camp, supported by Emil Wingstedt.

The ASOM event started on Friday 1 April with a night Mixed Sprint Relay.  The pairing of Grace Molloy and Sasha Chepelin was the highest placed British pairing finishing in 6th place, Kris Jones and Jo Shepherd finished in joint 12th and Chris Smithard and Charlotte Ward finished in14th.

The Knock Out Sprint took place on the following day (Saturday 2 April) with two exciting finals and British representatives in both. 
Megan Carter-Davies won the Women's event and Alice Leake in 4th. In the Men's Kris Jones finished in 3rd place.

Sunday (3 April) was the final day of competition with the WRE Sprint event.  In the Men's Kris Jones finished in 4th place with Chris Smithard the next British athlete in 16th and in the Women's Megan Carter-Davies and Alice Leake finished the competition with a 1st and 2nd, with Megan just pipping Alice by 1 second.

The World Cup 1 is the first major international event taking place in Sweden at the end of May, where Great Britain will be sending a full team with selections taking place after the JK (15 - 18 April 2022).
