Job Vacancy – British Orienteering Development Officer

British Orienteering has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a part time Development Officer (Inclusion).  

Orienteering is an exhilarating outdoor sport that continues to grow and thrive across the UK. This is your chance to join an organisation full of opportunity and excitement as we look forward to the 2024 World Orienteering Championships and delivery of a new strategic plan.

British Orienteering are responsible for overseeing, promoting and developing Orienteering and supporting our clubs and networks in delivering our ‘Thriving Clubs for a New Generation’ strategy.

Reporting directly to the Change Manager, the successful applicant will be required to demonstrate they are a committed and hard-working person who is passionate about the coordination, planning and supporting delivery of inclusive Orienteering opportunities.

Principle duties include, but are not limited to:

  • To support and deliver our vision to be an accessible and more diverse sport,
  • Supporting the development and implementation of British Orienteering’s Diversity and Inclusion Action plan,
  • Establish positive relationships with clubs and partners to enable inclusive learning and delivery opportunities

The post is 0.5 FTE with the potential to have a flexible approach to working hours. This post is a part-time role currently fixed term for 18 months, with potential for continuation subject to funding.  Our head office is based in Derbyshire, and this role will require a mix of office and homeworking.
