Introducing the new Find Your Way Project Officer and Diversity and Inclusion Officer at British Orienteering

We are delighted to have two new staff members join the team at British Orienteering in the past month.

Caroline Barcham

Caroline Barcham joins British Orienteering as the new Find your Way Project Officer, taking over from Kay Hawke.

Caroline has been orienteering for about 25 years. Although she does not describe herself as a runner, she loves the challenge that she gets from orienteering.  Currently based in the North West, Caroline is a member of South East Lancashire Orienteering Club (SELOC).

Prior to this Ishe was a secondary school teacher. She has had a career teaching Math's and developing orienteering within the school. She is delighted to now have the opportunity to promote and develop a sport she loves as her job!

For more information on the Find Your Way project and details on how your club can get involved, please contact Caroline at: caroline.barcham@britishorienteering.org.uk

Louise Satherley

Louise Satherley is the new Diversity and Inclusion Officer at British Orienteering.

Louise has been involved in sport throughout her life; as a gymnast and a track cyclist, before doing a little running. Although she has never done any orienteering before starting her position, but she is already hooked and enjoying lots of virtual orienteering with her little ones.

Having worked for National Governing Bodies of sport for 20 years, she has been fortunate enough to have seen many great changes in how sport operates. To have the opportunity to focus on diversity and inclusion is a real privilege for Louise.

There is already great work being done in this area and Louise is very much here to help and support and make this amazing sport a sport that everyone sees as a sport for them. She would love to hear from you, please feel free to get in touch lsatherley@britishorienteering.org.uk.
