Elite Athlete Winter Training Series of Interviews

Winter Training and Motivation: Athlete Focus

The temperature is cold, and the days are shorter. Struggling to maintain the motivation for training or orienteering regularly? You're not alone. Getting yourself out on cold dark mornings and evenings takes a lot more motivation than it might do in July.

Pick up some tips and see what makes up a typical training week for some of our top elite athletes this winter with our elite athlete focus feature series.

Jennie Taylor Communications Officer at British Orienteering, says:

"Over the next weeks, we will hear from some of British Orienteering's elite athletes who will provide a focus on their weekly training and their top tips for getting through the winter."

Series of 12 training interviews with elite athletes

The first athlete to be interviewed in the elite athlete winter training series of 12 interviews will be with Charlotte Ward from Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteers and Sheffield University Orienteering Club.

The series of interviews will continue each week until Tuesday 20 March which you may already know is the last day of winter.

British Orienteering who like to thank in advance all of the elite athletes who have been keen to be involved and have agreed to be interviewed.
