Sport England have continued today with the launch of a television advert, Join the Movement campaign to keep the nation active during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The TV ad is made entirely with self-shot videos from members of the public and backed by the likes of triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, Strictly Come Dancing's Karen Hauer, ex-England footballer Kelly Smith and former European 10,000m champion Jo Pavey.

You can watch the film here.

Tim Hollingsworth, Sport England Chief Executive, says:
“Keeping active has never been more important when you consider the profound benefits it can have for our mental health and physical wellbeing.”
“We’ve launched this advert today to celebrate all the diverse ways the public have been keeping active, whether at home with their family or alone and help people feel connected through a shared joy of moving.”

The Join the Movement campaign, supported by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and funded by the National Lottery, launched on 26 March and aims to inspire people to get active during these uncertain times – both for their physical and mental wellbeing.

British Orienteering is delighted to support Sport England’s Join the Movement campaign.

Peter Hart British Orienteering Chief Executive, says:
“At British Orienteering we know the value of continuing to keep active during these times whilst keeping to the UK Government guidelines.”

"Exercise is unique in that it can support our mental and physical health, and during this anxious time it’s more important than ever to keep ourselves and families having fun, moving and engaging in physical activity.”

"British Orienteering has developed a wide range of free downloadable resources to support families to enjoy keeping active together whilst still remaining safe in their homes and gardens.”
