Get Active this winter - check out these activities and ideas to enjoy locally

Due to COVID-19, there are restrictions across the UK. The activities listed here are to support individual exercise (or exercise within your household/ support bubble) and should only be undertaken if they are local to you. 

Spending time outdoors is good for you. Getting active locally is a great way to improve your fitness too.

Check out these activities and ideas to download to do at home, in the garden or in local green spaces.

Local Permanent Orienteering and/or Local Virtual Orienteering Courses

With over 500 Permanent and Virtual Orienteering Courses across the UK and so there maybe one local to where you live. You could use the local courses to make a different daily walk or part of your daily jog or run.  You could even use a local Permanent and / or Virtual Orienteering Course as a personal time challenge - and see how you can improve on your personal best.

Interested, but want to find out more?  A video has been released by the Orienteering Foundation, a charity supporting orienteering in the UK, explaining how to get started on a Permanent Orienteering Course.

If there aren't currently any local permanent and/or local virtual orienteering courses available where you live, then not to worry! 

British Orienteering have gathered together a wide range of free downloadable resources and activities to help keep the children entertained that you can do in the home, in your garden and / or local green spaces.
