GB Megan Carter-Davies claims her place in the Knock-out Sprint Semi-Final

With a fantastic performance this afternoon in the Women's Knock-out Sprint Quarter-Final 2 , GBR Megan Carter Davies secures her place in the Semi-Final in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.  Many congratulations Megan on your performance!

GBR Megan Carter-Davies finished in 2nd place this afternoon in her Women's Quarter Final 2 with a time of 08:11 minutes - just +0:01 behind Paula Gross (SUI) in 1st place finishing 08:10 and Lotta Karhola from Finland (8:12) in 3rd place.

Paula Gross (SUI), Megan Carter Davies (GBR) and Lotta Karhola (FIN) will now progress into the Semi-Final.  

Within the other five Womens Quarter-Final races held the top 3 from each race will also progress into the Semi-Final. This will now mean that we will now see the remaining 18 women now battle it out in the Semi-Final Knock-out Sprint to progress to the Sprint Final.

Quarter-Finals – The first Knock-Out round
It is now the Knock-Out starts and it is first to finish that matters. 6 athletes stand on the start line in each heat and start at the same time. The first 3 to finish in each heat qualify for the semi finals.

3 Heats with 6 athletes. The two”first to finsh” in each heat qualify for the final.

The Final
One final with 6 athletes. First to finish wins the European Championship and World Cup Competition.
