Development Conference 2020

Development Conference 2020

The National Development Conference 2020 is on the horizon and we can't wait to see you on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th January.

The theme ‘Making development work for you’ considers numerous areas where members can take valuable tips and advice which clubs can use and adapt to suit their own needs. We want to help you with the ‘How’ to grow and sustain your club which we’ve shaped our agenda around.

Discover the packed agenda here.

BOOK NOW Registration deadline extended to Wednesday 8th January 2020.

We’re pleased to announce Grace Molloy of Forth Valley Orienteers as the keynote speaker. Grace will be providing an intriguing insight into her journey from club orienteering to elite level, along with the challenges she’s faced and her ideas for clubs in the future to embrace.

Saturday also sees Club Matters providing a valuable workshop focused on volunteers. Looking at their experience, creating a positive culture to encourage more to volunteer and developing a volunteer action plan within your club.

Also included in a packed agenda is time considering some key statistics and what they can tell us about our membership and how you can use this to influence your clubs direction to ensure we are capitalising on your strengths. With the day concluding with several clubs presenting on new projects they’ve run this year which you could adapt for your club. A bit like a mini webinar so to speak.

Sunday kicks off With Steve Fairhurst of Be More Cheetah lead the morning focusing on club communications and maximising the opportunities for clubs to market themselves.

Steve has 30 years of experience in marketing, working for agencies such as MDA, The Marketing Store and Dialogue Communications before forming The Zest Collective Group of companies in the year 2000. Clients include Coca Cola, Shell, Heineken, Mercedes-Benz and the NHS.

Steve specialises in ‘the sharp end’ of marketing – where the customer meets the brand directly and has a unique take on the social media landscape and how best to present your brand for maximum effect using tried and tested techniques.

With a pragmatic and energising approach to training, the session is sure to be engaging and empowering – dealing with simple practical steps on how to generate results quickly, rather than wading through statistics and broad theories.

The session is designed around the 2020 programme of events and is aimed at clubs and group admins for regional association members. Learn the winning ways of the world’s biggest brands and make sure your social media content is as engaging as it can be.

The day concludes with a focus on youth development and how clubs have adapted new strategies, whilst providing ideas for others to consider.
