Then walk further ahead to assembly, preferable using the footpath inside the woods to the left or on the right alongside the track. The track is rough in places. If you prefer, park nearer the entrance and proceed on foot. Please be considerate of the many non-orienteers who park along the same track and access the woods for recreation. |

| Course description: | Terrain: Generally wooded area with some small open areas and a multitude of paths and tracks which may be muddy in places. There are steep slopes and several small cliffs and along the north side. These slopes will be slippery in wet conditions – please exercise caution. There is undergrowth in some areas and full leg covering is required. Map: 1:7,500 scale map with 5 m contours, redrawn in 2020 by John Parfitt with minor updates in 2023 and 2026. Note some vegetation is currently more runnable than mapped. Control descriptions will be printed on the maps with loose description sheets available at the start (written descriptions for White and Yellow only; others will be pictorial). |
