Details

Description:The map covers a moorland around Loch Doon which is rich in contour features. In the area which will be used. There are few paths but there are line features such as walls, fences and power lines. Being a moorland the ground is very wet with small burns and marshland. Safety Notes Do not frighten the animals. Do not climb the walls. Be careful of cars on the road. The ground is wet. There are holes and ditches hidden in the long grass. Dry socks and shoes will definitely be needed. If the weather is poor you will need light weight waterproofs. There is very little shelter on the moor so, in poor weather, you might have to shelter in cars. The car parking is strung out a bit along the road.
