| Description: | Discover Ball Grove Park, a brand-new area for orienteering! This fresh venue offers a great mix of terrain and features that will appeal to all levels of competitors.
The competition area lies between the A6068 (Colne–Cross Hills road) and the River Colne Water – both strictly out of bounds for safety. Within the mapped area, you’ll find:
A well-connected path network for fast route choices
A patchwork of woodland, parkland, and rough open land
Two scenic lakes and areas of marshland (some best avoided!)
Woodland that is mostly runnable, with occasional thickets and low brambles for added navigational interest
For those wanting a less technical course but a longer run, the Red Course is ideal. It’s designed for runners who prefer a physical challenge without the complexity of advanced navigation, perfect for those looking to stretch their legs and enjoy the park’s varied terrain.
