Details

Description:After downloading, you are most welcome to stay on in the Centaur Arms (which is upstairs from the Source Café) to enjoy some polite conversation over a drink and a festively themed buffet. During this get-together, David Faulkner (BOK Chairman) and Sophie Jones (UBOC Captain) will present the awards for this event and other member achievements over the past 12 months. The buffet will be free at the point of delivery, but the Centaur Arms will be a cash bar. Furthermore, please note that to comply with Licensing requirements, as the Centaur Arms is a private members’ club, anyone wishing to be served drinks will be required to provide their name and contact details beforehand. At the time of writing this flyer it is not clear precisely how this will operate but it should be evident on the day. Our sincere thanks to the University of Bristol for letting us use the Langford Campus and Centaur, the student society that represents the students at the School of Veterinary Services, for the use of their facilities for this event.

Courses

Course description:There will be three 60 minute score courses to choose from. 27 control sites will be used. Their control codes are 111 to 119, 121 to 129 and 131 to 139. Only the control codes and control circles that apply to a given Course will appear on that Course’s map. Note that the middle number (1, 2 or 3) of the control code multiplied by 10 is a quick indication of the number of points the control is worth, i.e., control number 111 is worth 10 points, 121 is worth 20 points, 131 is worth 30 points etc. For Cows & Bulls (Long), a bonus of 1 point for each 6 seconds or part 6 seconds “early” will be given for finishing in less than 60 minutes and for having successfully dibbed all 27 controls. A penalty of 1 point for each 6 seconds or part 6 seconds “late” will be incurred for finishing in more than 60 minutes. For Ewes & Rams (Medium), a bonus of 1 point for each 10 seconds or part 10 seconds “early” will be given for finishing in less than 60 minutes and for having successfully dibbed all 21 controls. A penalty of 1 point for each 10 seconds or part 10 seconds “late” will be incurred for finishing in more than 60 minutes. For Fillies & Colts (Short), a bonus of 1 point for each 15 seconds or part 15 seconds “early” will be given for finishing in less than 60 minutes and for having successfully dibbed all 15 controls. A penalty of 1 point for each 15 seconds or part 15 seconds “late” will be incurred for finishing in more than 60 minutes. No “handicap” multipliers will apply to the total scores obtained. Control descriptions will be on the map, in “symbolic” form for Cows & Bulls and Ewes & Rams and in “textual” form for Fillies & Colts. No loose control descriptions will be provided.
