Coaching Opportunity - Lagganlia 2011

Coaching Opportunity - Lagganlia 2011

Dates:  July 23rd to 30th

Area: Aviemore, Scotland

This is an excellent coaching opportunity for qualified coaches to gain valuable coaching experience outside of normal club and regional coaching activities.

The Junior Regional Orienteering Squads (JROS) run a week long training camp at Lagganlia Outdoor Centre, near Aviemore, for 24 keen and enthusiastic young athletes (primarily 2ndyear 14s). The aim of the camp is to help these young people develop the skills and friendships to sustain them in the sport of Orienteering and also to support the development of coaches in the UK.

This camp is being supported by the British Orienteering Development Fund, in order to help reduce the drop off in sports participation.

The athletes are currently being nominated by their regional squads and this will be their first experience of a national training camp.

It’s great fun & hard work and of course you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver coaching sessions on fantastic terrain.

We will not necessarily be able to take all who apply as spaces are limited, but if you would like to register your interest, please send your name, club, BOF number & coaching qualification to Nev Myers, stating briefly your experience and why you would like to be considered.

Coaching on this tour will count as 50pts towards your CPD.

Closing Date:  May 25th 2011

Tour Manager:  Tony Carlyle

Lead Coach: Nev Myers
