World Cup Final - Long Race

The first race of the World Cup finals took place today in Arosa, Switzerland writes Ed Nicholas.

The long race was held in physical terrain with big steep slopes making for long times on the courses. Great Britain have four athletes competing in the races with Hector Haines in the men's races and Cat Taylor, Jess Tullie and Jo Shepherd in the women's race.

Hector was top Brit in 18th place. Hector told us

"Tough race today! Lots of stories to tell from all of us. For me it was a big mistake at 4, and then a few smaller misses that accumulated to put me out of the top ten. I felt quite good running the hills, but a little twist of my ankle slowed me a bit in the last half. Looking forward to tomorrow now! Going for a cleaner race!"

Jess Tullie was mostly happy with her race, but made one costly error which unfortunatley put her outside a top result.
