Emily Benham takes Silver in the women's Middle distance race.

The Mountain Bike Orienteering World Championships Middle distance race was held yesterday in some undulating terrain close to the main event centre at Agueda in Portugal.

Emily Benham continued showing her top form by taking the Silver medal in the women's race. Missing the Gold by a slim 3 seconds! Unfortunately a few things did not quite come together on the day with a bit of time lost at various points on the course. Her riding speed is there so Emily is now turning her attention to giving everything in the Long distance race on Friday.

Clare Dallimore exceeded everyone's expectations including her own.  With a fairly early start she was leading at the radio controls and as it transpired only 8 of the elite riders were able to better her time. A phenomenal 9th place on her World Championship debut.

Natalie Creswick continues to improve with every race. Having done so well in the sprint race things did not quite come together for her in the same way, a natural hill climber she showed her strength on the climbs by pulling back time.
