Share Your Views On Coaching In The UK

Sport England and Sport Scotland have commissioned an independent review of the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC). As the British Orienteering coaching pathway features UKCC I encourage you to contribute to the survey below whether you are a qualified coach or not.

The review is being run by the Sport and Recreation Alliance (SRA) in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) Business School's Sport Policy Unit and will assess the extent to which the UKCC remains fit for purpose and what changes may be required to get more people from diverse backgrounds into coaching.

As part of the data collection part of the review, MMU is running a survey of coaches both UKCC qualified and non-UKCC qualified. This is your opportunity to contribute your views and experiences to the review process. The survey will focus on a number of key areas, including:

  • Your background in coaching
  • Recruitment routes into coaching
  • Experiences of the UKCC and wider coaching
  • Pathways, challenges, and progression in coaching
  • Learning formats and settings as a coach

Take the UK Coaching Certificate Survey - here

The survey is anonymous, and data will be held on a secure external server. Neither the Sport and Recreation Alliance or MMU will have access to any personal data. Results will be produced on an aggregate basis and will not be attributed to any individual or organisation. The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete.

The survey will remain open until Friday 24 November.

The SRA would be very grateful for your interest and support in shaping recommendations to inform the future direction of the UKCC and related policy in this area.

If you would like to discuss the review in more detail, please contact the SRA.
