2017 Sports Club Survey

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is inviting you to take part in the 2017 Sports Club Survey.

The Sports Club Survey is a piece of research undertaken by the Alliance in partnership with Sport England that aims to assess the health of sport and recreation clubs across the country. It features questions on a variety of topics such as membership and volunteer numbers, club finances, the key challenges sports clubs are facing and a clubs’ relationship with its local County Sports Partnership.

The answers that we receive from sport and recreation clubs will help provide valuable insight into the current state of clubs, volunteers and coaches that is needed to inform future funding and wider decisions made by Sport England and National Governing Bodies.

A sport or recreational club is defined as a group of people who get together regularly to take part in a physical or recreational activity.

The survey will take an estimated 20 minutes to complete. Respondents will have the option of saving their progress as they go along and to return to the survey at a later date. In order to complete the section about club finances (section E of the questionnaire), it is recommended that respondents have information about their finances to hand.

Clubs who complete the survey will be entered into a series of prize draws where they have the chance to win one of two iPads or one of four £25 vouchers to spend on equipment.

The survey can be accessed here.
