World University Orienteering Championships Support Team Advert

We are currently seeking volunteers for the support teams that will coordinate and support Great Britain teams at the World University Orienteering Championships in 2018. These three positions will work as a team to support our athletes to deliver their best performances at these championships. 

The competition takes place in Kuortane, Finland from 15th to 21st July 2018 and support volunteers will need to be available for the full competition period. As well as attendance at the competition the Team Manager position requires a time commitment in advance of travel. Reasonable volunteer expenses in relationto the competitions will be paid by British Orienteering.

Positions Available 

There are 3 positions available at each competition. For consistency, it is preferential that the positions are filled by the same people at both competitions. However, we will consider all offers of support. 

 
Team Manager 

As Team Manager you will coordinate the GB team attendance at competitions aiming to provide, as far as possible, a stress-free competition experience for the team. You will have experience of coordinating team attendance at international competitions and be able to provide time in advance of the competition to coordinate team entries and logistics. 

Team Manager Role Description 

 

Technical Support 

As Technical Support Volunteer you will work with the Team Manager and Medical Support Volunteer to support athletes, as far as possible, to deliver their best performances at the competition. You willprovide coaching/mentoring support and assist with trainingfor athletes who require it whilst at the competition. 

 

Physio 

As Physio you will work with the Team Manager and Technical Support Volunteer to support athletes, as far as possible, to deliver their best performances at the competition. You willprovide medical advice and support commensurate with your qualifications for athletes whilst at the competition.
