Liverpool Big Weekend kicks off on 6-7 October 2018

You now have an extra reason to come to the UK Orienteering League Liverpool Big Weekend on 6-7 October. In addition to Formby Sand Dunes on Saturday 6 October (entry limit 500) and UK Urban League sprints around the University area on Sunday 7 October, there is a major event, finally announced, for the same weekend - the GIANTS are coming to town!

The Liverpool Big Weekend Day 1 Formby Dunes and Urban Event are part of the UK Orienteering League and is being organised by Deeside and South-East Lancashire Orienteering Clubs.

The orienteering weekend programme is as follows:

Saturday 6 October: Formby
UK Orienteering League long distance race in top quality technical open & forested dunes on a brand new map.

Sunday 7 October: University of Liverpool

UK Orienteering League and UK Urban League Double Header sprint races (2 sprints).

The Giants:  will be in Liverpool and The Wirral from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 October.

Booking your accommodation early for this event is definitely recommended.
Key point is that over 1 million people were on the streets to follow the story over the 3 days last time. The orienteering will be well away from the crowds but the city will be full of people and accommodation will book up really early. So, book now and, if you aren’t staying in the city centre, make sure that you can get to the City Centre on Sunday morning by public transport.

Please spread the word to others.
