British Sprint Championships - A word from the planner

The British Sprint Championships are now only three days away and the organisers are busy making the final preparations.

Part of the preparations is to get the maps printed. One of the mappers for this years event, Mike Forrest, told us how he is looking forward to seeing competitors run the courses that they have created.

This is what Mike had to say:

“So, the news fresh from the British Sprint Championships coalface is that the map and courses have gone off to the printers, ready for your competition on Saturday. I am really excited about the courses we have been able to put together for you. Chris Johnson’s map is excellent (aided by our mapping adviser, Tony Thornley), and gives a very clear view of the terrain you will face, and in particular, makes the split-level nature of the main campus building very easy to follow. Most of you will get a taste of that in the heats, with more interesting decisions to make in the finals. All we need now is some decent weather to go with what should be an excellent competition.”

The British Sprint Championships take place this Saturday (1st September) at Bath University, more information, including the events final details can be found on the British Sprint website.

The British Middle Championships will follow the Sprint Championships on Sunday (2nd September) at Stock Hill near Wells in Somerset. More information can be found on the British Middle Championships website.

Good luck to everyone competing!
