British Orienteering's National Office joins in with World Orienteering Day!

The British Orienteering National Office made the most of the glorious World Orienteering Day weather and ran a fun Xplorer event around the grounds of the National Office at Scholes Mill in Tansley, near Matlock, Derbyshire in their lunch hour today.

Tim Herod from the Development Team set up the course which took place from the office carpark at Scholes Mill and out to the local area. People from around the industrial estate were encouraged to come out on their lunchbreak and give orienteering a go. National Office staff including Peter Hart British Orienteering's Chief Executive Officer took part in the fun.

Peter Hart says: "Having just participated in an Xplorer activity as part of World Orienteering Day I was able to enjoy the sport of orienteering and the challenges involved in the sport whilst at the same time explore the wonderful countryside around the office in Derbyshire. I hope you all have a similar experience and will continue to participate in a sport that challenges you both physically and mentally."
