Lockdown Orienteering: The Classic Orienteering Weekend – entries open!

Friday 8th to Sunday 10th May 2020.

A 3-day orienteering competition from the comfort of your sofa with ‘classic’ orienteering themed stages.

The challenges will be themed around ‘Classic’ orienteering. Forest orienteering!

The next challenge - The Classic Orienteering Weekend

There will be ten stages across the weekend. The stages will open on Wednesday 6 May and then close at different times during the weekend: two on Friday evening, and four each on Saturday and Sunday. There will then be a Livestream roundup each evening talking about the stages that have closed that day.

We call each challenge a stage. In total there will be 10 stages:

  • Video Adventure…
  • Control Description Game (version 2)
  • Spot the difference
  • Routechoice: Forest Edition
  • Physical…
  • Laby: The Maze!
  • Photo Memory Orienteering (version 2)
  • 3 x Catching Feature stages (optional)

The non-Catching Features stages test different elements of your orienteering technique and you can have a go at stages from our Easter Championships or Sprint Weekend to get an idea of what might be involved.

Entries Now Open!
Entries cost £10 for adults and £5 for juniors/students. Please enter through this link.

Please note: entries will close at 23:59 UK Time on Tuesday 5th May.

Part of your entry fee will be split between the GB Squad and Polokwane Orienteering Club in South Africa, to help develop orienteering there.
