The Great British Week of Sport: Celebrating the Sport of Orienteering

The Great British Week of Sport starts today (Saturday 19 September) and runs for a whole week until Sunday 27 September 2020.

The inaugural Great British Week of Sport aims to inspire the nation to celebrate the power that sport and activity has on our mental, physical and social well-being.

Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport that exercises mind and body, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

The aim is to navigate between checkpoints or controls marked on a special orienteering map. There is no set route so the skill and fun come from trying to find the best way to go.

There is no better time to find out more about the sport of Orienteering.

In competitive orienteering, the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time.

Permanent Orienteering Courses are also a great way to start orienteering and are at a time and place that suits you. Permanent Orienteering courses are listed here.

Find out more about Permanent and Virtual Orienteering Courses here.

Don't forget to check out too the Newcomers Guide to the Sport of Orienteering here.
