British Middle and Northern Championships 2021 - First Major Events!

The UK Orienteering League starts this weekend, with the British Middle Championships and Northern Championships being races 1 and 2 of a shortened season.

Here is some other UKOL information:

  • the 2021 UKOL season will consist of fewer races than in a normal year, due to the cancellation of planned races in the first part of 2021. Despite that, there is a good mix of formats and locations around the country amongst the planned UKOL series.
  • there are currently 15 planned races before the end of the year, and of these, the best 8 scores will count for the league. If planned events are cancelled or postponed, the number of counting scores will be reviewed and reduced.
  • the schedule of UKOL races is here:

As part of #Volunteers Week (1-7 June), British Orienteering would like to take this opportunity to say a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to all volunteers involved in putting on this weekend's events.  Thank you to Derek Allison (British Middle Distance Orienteering Championships Organiser).  Thank you also to Roger Smith who has put in so much work for the British Middles which takes place tomorrow (Saturday 5 June 2021). Thank you to Trevor Roberts Northern Champs Organiser (Sunday 6 June 2021) and all the club volunteers involved in the many tasks needing to be completed to pull together an event of this size within the current circumstances.

British Orienteering wishes all competitors a safe journey as they travel to Newby Bridge in Cumbria.

Please respect and adhere to all the event organising team’s requests throughout the weekend.

Wishing you all a great orienteering weekend!
