#NewSeason: Exciting Major Orienteering Events to look forward to in 2022

With fixtures and dates confirmed for the 2022 season, there is plenty to look forward to in the world of orienteering in the new year.

Check out these updates of British Orienteering's Major Championship Events for 2022.

British Night Orienteering Championships 2022

Ilkley Moor


The British Night Orienteering Championships 2021 may just have only recently been concluded but already plans for the British Night Orienteering Championships 2022 are well underway. The event is to be held on Ilkley Moor and is being hosted by Airenteers on Saturday 19 February 2022.  The next day following day (Sunday 20 February) is a National event and UK Orienteering League on Burley and Ilkley Moor. British Middle Distance Championships 2022

The British Middle Distance Championships are being hosted by East Anglia Orienteering Association and will be taking place on Sunday 6 March 2022.  Full details can be found here.   Entries are now open and prices are as follows:

Please note:  There will be NO entry on the day. Entry by age class (M/W10 – 90) or non-competitive courses white, yellow or orange.

British Individual Long and Relay Championships 2022
Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 March 2022

The British Individual Long and Relay championships 2022, will be held near Liphook and is being hosted by South East Orienteering Association. 
This event should have been held in 2020 but was postponed at the last minute due to the first COVID-19 Lockdown.  However, this event has now successfully been rearranged for the weekend of Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March 2022.   Entries are now open.

The Welsh Orienteering Association will be kindly hosting the JK 2022 and look forward to welcoming you to South Wales for four days of exciting orienteering over the Easter weekend! The preliminary details are as follows:

Membership Renewal & First Entry Closing Dates

Important to please note:
Sunday 16 January 2022
is the first closing date for the JK 2022, the British Long Relays 2022, and the British Middle-distance Championships 2022.

To ensure online entries can be made members need to make sure that their membership is current and has been in place for 14 days prior to any entry closing dates.

Please also note: British Orienteering’s National Office will be closed for the festive season from Thursday 23 December and will reopen on Tuesday 4 January 2022 at 09:00 in the new year. Emails and membership renewals will not be processed during this time. You can renew your membership online during the office closure times to ensure your membership is current for 2022 and to enter using your membership number via Fabian4 and Sportident.

All membership renewals and new memberships will be processed as soon as possible during the first week that the National Office re-opens. National Office admin staff will do their utmost to clear any membership backlog as soon as possible in the first week of re-opening.
