Bristol OK wins UK Orienteering League 2021

Report by Martin Ward, British Orienteering UKOL Coordinator

The UK Orienteering League (UKOL) race season has concluded with the Southern Championships hosted by Mole Valley at Ashdown Forest, meaning that the final results of the Club and Individual UKOL competitions are now confirmed.  Congratulations to Bristol (BOK) which won the Club League with 4,839 points, ahead of South Yorkshire (SYO) in second on 4,616 points and Southern Navigators (SN) in third on 4,358 points.

In the Individual age-class competition Kirsten Strain (AROS) was the only competitor to achieve the top score of 400 points for 8 UKOL race wins over the year, but John and Jenny Thompson (TVOC) were remarkably close scoring 399 points each, and comfortably winning the M85 and W80 classes!

Thanks must go to all the clubs that have organised events that were part of the 2021 UKOL race season, many at short notice due to the difficulties caused by Covid constraints.
