Parking information:The event will take place in the woods and on the moorland around Cod Beck Reservoir near Osmotherley, which is easily accessible from the A19. The event will be signed from the centre of Osmotherley at grid reference SE 456972. If coming into Osmotherley from the A19, turn right (south) at the T-junction in Osmotherley, then fork left as you leave the village, go down and then up a long hill, and then turn left into the Drover's Road at grid reference SE 473972 just before "Chequers" (postcode DL6 3QB).
Dog rules:Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the Assembly Area, but are not allowed out on to the courses.

Details

Description:Terrain: Mixed woodland around Cod Beck reservoir, open moorland on Scarth Wood Moor, and wooded hillside in Coalmire. The last of these has not been used for orienteering for several years. All boast a variety of contour and rock features. Map: Scale 1:10,000 with 5m contours. Blue and Brown A3 size All other courses A4 size. Coalmire has been redrawn and updated for this event by Paul Taylor, and other areas have had minor updates. The courses will be overprinted on the maps, on waterproof paper. The control descriptions will be printed on the maps, and separate loose copies will be available at Registration. White and Yellow course maps will be available at the pre-start. Safety: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility. CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the time of year a waterproof jacket with hood may be compulsory depending on weather conditions. Look out for signs in the Assembly Area. Please come prepared. If you have a relevant medical condition please complete form at Registration. Lone drivers: Please leave labelled car keys at registration. Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your course. Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance. Facilities: Toilet in the Assembly Area. No drinks will be provided. Please bring your own
