Details

Description:Terrain: Typical North Yorkshire forest with a mix of runability and visibility, on a sloping valley with some rock and contour detail. Some courses may also visit Dale Town Moor, which has a variety of pits and depressions. Previous maps from events in 2019 and 2018. Map: Scale 1:10,000 with 5m contours. Redrawn for this event by Paul Taylor with the latest LIDAR data. The courses will be overprinted on the maps, which will be printed on waterproof paper. Safety: We will be monitoring the Covid-19 situation and any government imposed rules or guidance in the run up to the event, and will keep this event page updated with the implications for competitors. As the rules currently stand, you must not come to this (or any other) event if you should be self-isolating in accordance with Government guidance. Also, although orienteering is a naturally socially-distanced sport, please continue to act sensibly to avoid Covid-19 transmission. In particular, avoid unnecessary close contact with people outside your household and maintain good hand hygiene. A comprehensive risk assessment has been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Orienteering is an adventure sport - your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility. Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your course. CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event. If you have a relevant medical condition please inform the Organiser before the event or indicate it via the pre-entry system.
