Description: | It gives CUOC great pleasure to invite you to the second Cambridge City Race. We will bring you intricate navigation around many of Cambridge’s famous colleges as well as the narrow streets and open spaces of our beautiful city. As well as offering you the chance to run through some of the oldest university buildings in the world, this year’s city race incorporates the annual Icenian Trophy for EAOA clubs, is part of the Nopesport Urban League and is the final event in the 2011 UK Masters Cup. What’s more, local club WAOC are putting on an event on Sunday at Rowney Warren – why not make a weekend of it?

Entries will be limited to 350 excluding junior courses. There will be no entry on the day. To be competitive (and therefore eligible for prizes, the Icenian, the Nopesport Urban League and the 2011 UK Masters Cup), you must run the course recommended for your age group. However, please enter whichever course you feel is of appropriate difficulty.

Important note for juniors: the current advice from British Orienteering is that juniors cannot be trusted to cross roads safely. The roads in Cambridge are narrow and busy with traffic, including many kamikaze cyclists. Therefore to avoid all major roads, we have had to confine the two junior courses to Coe Fen, a large inner-city park. |
