| Description: | Yellow 1.7km 45m climb 8 controls, Orange 2.5km 80m climb 15 controls, Green 4.1km 100m climb 19 controls and blue 6.0km 155m climb 29 controls. Map 1:5000 5m contours updated summer 2015. Terrain: In places thick woodland, open grassland, prominent main tracks and many minor tracks. Main climb from the start then generally undulating. Undergrowth at present of nettles and brambles quite prominent. Quarry area used only on the blue and green courses. Note also: Karen Ashworth and Ali Hooper are organising a search training session after the event, to which all those who plan and organise events and operate the SI equipment are invited. This will be a practical session based around a missing competitor scenario and is a chance for everyone to work through the club emergency plan in the spirit of improving how we deal with any future incidents. We expect the session to start as soon as the last competitors have returned at around 12:30 and to take around an hour (we will supply more detail on the exact location to search if ‘missing competitor’ is not found by 13:30) Squash and cake will be provided. |
