Details

Description:Following the 'retro' events we're bring you all bang up to date with a modern event including pre-marked (accurate) colour maps, SIAC punching / timing, etc. SIAC dibbers will be available courtesy of Sportident based near Penrith. So you can try out the latest technology, and if you have a GPS why not use it and then download and analyse your efforts with Quickroute. We also hope to have routegadget available for you to either download a GPx file or you can 'hand' draw [approximately where you think you went!] if you wish. The start is on the fell slope of Rannerdale Knotts , so take care when crossing the road, supervise young juniors. The novice has a finish on the fell slope, so again take when re-crossing the road, there will be signs out to warn traffic. The long and short cross the road, near Crummock, so take care here, they end in the broadleaf woodland adjacent to the NT car park - a technical sting in the tail. Check your control numbers, there are quite a few controls in the final section. Don't forget that the NT car park fee will need to be paid, unless you are a member of course.
