Parking information:Sneaton Forest is easily accessible from the B1416 south of Whitby. Parking and assembly will be at grid reference NZ 884009. The event will be signed from the "Red Gate" corner on the Ruswarp to Scarborough road (B1416) at grid reference NZ 892047. For satnavs, the nearest postcode is YO22 5JE. This will take you to the May Beck car park, which is on the way from the Red Gate corner to the event parking.
Dog rules:Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the parking / Registration area, and can be taken out into the competition area. If you, are taking your dog out into the competition area, please be very careful not to impede or distract other competitors, particularly in the vicinity of controls.

Details

Description:Terrain: Coniferous forest of mixed age and runnability, with a good ride and track network. Map: 1:10,000 scale. 5m contours. The courses will be overprinted on the maps, which will be printed on waterproof paper. The control descriptions will be printed on the maps, and separate loose copies will be available at Registration. Safety: Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your course. CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event. If you have a relevant medical condition, please complete a form at Registration. Please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility. Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance. Facilities: Toilets in the Assembly Area. First Aid at Registration. Please bring your own water for after your run.
