Description:One of three elite training races over the weekend. Sunday Nov 1st – chasing start – Blind Lane Parking – permission for this area has not yet been received – watch this space in case of a last-minute change of venue. Forestry Commission carpark on lane at SD 345913. Additional carpark 250m west. Overflow if necessary – park carefully on wider sections of lane. Start & Finish – same place, SD342917, 800m uphill from main parking Start procedure: A chasing start based on total times from races 1 and 2. W / M leaders start first at 10.30. The chasing start will run for 20 minutes. Other runners will be started soon after this. Start times will not be published in advance but will be displayed at the start / finish area. If 2 or 3 people start together, they will be spaced along a wide start line and will have different first gaffles. Courses: W20/21E 6.1km. M20/21E 7.5km. WT 60 minutes. One-person-relay format with 3 loops each with 3 gaffled sections. Each loop is on a separate map, both printed on the same sheet of paper. If confused just follow the control numbers! On completing each loop, you must return to the start / finish point before starting the next loop. No control but you will be logged through. Do not punch the finish control after your first or second loops or you will not get a result!! Terrain – varied plantation / woodland. Map notes - 1:7,500. Updated oct 2020. Laser-printed. Extraction lanes / rides – these follow just about every re-entrant / saddle in the plantation. Only a few of the most continuous and distinct (deep wheel marks) have been mapped with the black dashed symbol. Others are not shown at all. Mountain bike tracks – everywhere! Only the most distinct are shown. Sport Ident touch-free SIAC will be enabled for this race.
