Course description: | Urban footpaths, residential streets, and urban park/woodland. It is advisable to stay on the paths in the wooded areas as runnability and undergrowth mapping is very generalised, and the undergrowth off the paths could be very challenging in early September. Road shoes and shorts should be suitable (provided you stay on the paths). No metal studs (dobs) although if it has been raining something with additional grip e.g., rubber lugs, would be advisable. Newcomers are advised to familiarise themselves with uncrossable features and out of bounds symbols. (If in doubt ask at Assembly). For the Long and Medium courses there are 2 timed-out mandatory road crossings via a pedestrian refuge, using the same set of controls (one going W-E and on the return leg E- W); you will be allowed 1 min timed-out to cross this road safely which should be sufficient. Please take extreme care when crossing this road. Do not be tempted to take any risks. |
